August 3, 2011, Chicago, IL, Kontinent Media attends president Obama’s 50th birthday celebration with friends and family. Over 1,700 political friends were in attendance at the Aragon Ballroom reported our correspondent. Those invited to attend enjoyed concert with Jennifer Hudson, Herbie Hancock and OK Go. Same serenaded the president with “Happy birthday Mr. President” as Obama took the stage to address the crowd. The event was also attended by many prominent politicians such as Dick Durbin, Jan Schakowsky, and Mayor of Chicago Rahm Emanuel. Mayor addressed the crowd prior to the president taking the stage.

Just days after the debt ceiling crisis (seemingly) resolved, the Obama administration kicked off its fundraising campaign for 2012. It was reported that 100 backers contributing $35,800 each for an opportunity to have dinner with the president.

Obama in a lighthearted manner joked with the crowd about receiving an email from the AARP membership urging him to contact the president. He went on to say that "[o]bviously, I've gotten a little grayer since I took this job, but otherwise I feel pretty good," the president said. "And Michelle, you know, says that she still thinks I'm cute — and I guess that's all that matters, isn't it?"

Obama made a point to address immigration issues and his willingness to work to get it done.
Obama is among the youngest of presidents. Only six others have turned 50 on the job: James Polk, Franklin Pierce, Ulysses Grant, Grover Cleveland, Theodore Roosevelt and Bill Clinton.
Leonard Mogul for Kontinent Media concluded that “it was an honor to be invited to celebrate Obama’s 50th birthday. It was an incredible feeling to stand among other mainstream press representing my Russian-American community. The event was also attended by ABC, NBC, Sun-Times, Tribune, Fox, WGN, with select few media outlets accredited for this special event.”
